PC- who wants to be a millioinaire help needed PLEASE
Hi guys, can someone please help me. I have the orig copy of who wants to be a millionaire but cant back it up, it installs fully but when I go to play it I get the message"please insert the correct disc". I visited the patch section on gamecopyworld and it has the fixes there but I have no idea how to apply the patch. I know how to patch psx games using the ppf applicator but have no experience of patching pc cdrom games. I've downloaded the patch and it has a game.exe file, in the instructions it says to replace the old exe file with one from the archive? how do I do this. I've used clone cd to write the image file because cdrwin wont read it at all, says that there are two many errors or something, anyway it burns and installs on clone cd but then I get that message "please insert the correct cd" Under clone cd it creates the following image files, image.ccd image.img and image.sub
how do I put the new exe flie into here? If I have to use msdos to rename the file path then its way out of my leauge!!! If someone knows how to do it please help me, if you do have to go into msdos and make adjustments can someone please explain it in detail for me, (idiot proof instructions) as I'm not the brightest!!! Please Please Please I really need you guys expertise help. Thanking you immeasureably in advance, Rich |

Hi,
this useless setting for clonecd won't help. "Who wants to be....." is Safedisc1 protected and you can leave all settings "off", when your writer can burn in DAO-RAW mode and is 100% compatible with CloneC*, then the backup will work without a cr***. It din't work for you, so the "skip fast..." won't help either. Ok, now to your question. First install the game from your backup and THEN!!!!! replace the orig. game.exe ON your HD with the game.exe from GCW. That will work 100%. If you want to replace the orig. game.exe on the cd, first look if you can find it on the orig. cd, if it is packed in a cab, you won't and than it would be a little tricky to replace it. But when you can find it on the CD in the main root or somewhere else, then just copy the HOLE cd to a folder, replace the orig. with the fixed game.exe and burn it back to a cd with Discjuggler, WinOnCD or something else. BUT don't forget to give your backup the SAME name as the original one. Hope this could help you and it is not too confusing. If you have some more questions mail or ICQ 96996846 me. Cap
