Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings 2.0a Crack.

I have gone to both GameFix and MegaGames to get a 2.0a crack for Age of Empires II and none of them work. I have tried every 2.0a crack on both sites (I don't think there are any on MegaGames).

Each one of the cracks allows you to start Aoe2 up and get to the title screen. Most of them even allow you to start a single-player game. However, none of them work when you try and do a multi-player game. If you try and host a game, it says 'You must have a CD in your CDROM drive'. If you try to connect to a multi-player game it does not think that you have a CD, and you have to share off another player with a CD.

Has anyone ever found a working crack for Aoe2? It is really annoying that they posted all of those cracks on both GameFix and MegaGames and they do not work. You would figure they'd have checked them first.

I HAVE PLAYED MULTIPLAYER GAMES (2 LAN) WITH AOE KINGS WITH NO PROBLEMS USING PATCHES. I HAVE ONLY TRIED WITH THE ORIGINAL VERSION (BACKUP) AND NO VERSION UPGRADES (NOT SURE WHAT VERSION)...

Yeah, previous to this, I had installed a crack and registry fix for version 1.0. It worked perfectly, regardless of what I was trying to do (single- or multi-player). For some reason, they can't seem to do a crack that works for any newer versions...

I am happy with what is avaiable, but is there any benefit in updating to 2a, are they somwhere in microsoft site... I hate going to anything with microsoft, but beggerrrss can't be choosers..
