Help wanted safedisk 2

I made a copy of a game called mulle meck ( swedish) and the game works perfect in my cd burner (plextor 8432 firm 1.07) but not in a cd reader. The game is protected with safedisk 2 ,bad sector and itīs overburn.Anyone know why the game works in my cd burner and not in my cdreader.

That is one of the most common problems with cdwriters that can't accurately interpret subchannel data. Some CDwriters can read a disc that is protected well enought to make a copy that they themselves can interpret but cannot be interpreted by a standard cd drive. This is the reason that it works in one but not the other. This very seldom is the result of the program that you used to burn it..but if you didn't use a program such as CloneCd or Blindread/write you probably didn't obtain a successful burn...so you can see that it can go either way! If you need more help just reply..oh yea, due to a few A*S*S*H*O*L*E*S on this forum I have been forced to use a ficticious email address so I will look for replys ASAP!!

Happy Holidays

I used clone cd 2831 and the plextor 8432 firmver 1.07 i made the iso
from this burner to hard drive and back. I read the cd in 2X and burn in 2X i tried a lots of different settings in clone cd. I also tried blind read / write with the same results. What i know this plextor is one of the cd burner who can read subchannel perfect. I made a copy of diablo 2 and itīs works perfect. but that was securom protected

Isnt it so that a safe disc2 prot. reads the
info on a CD-r disc wich says it is just a
CD-r disc , and therefor sees it as a copy
and the game fails to start , but if you put
the back-up in a DVD reader , the DVD reader
canīt read that spec. info on a CD-R disc and therefor u can play the game on a DVD reader??? Is it "Mulle Meck bygger flygplan"?
M8 ???

With version 2.8.3.1 of CloneCD try these settings if you haven't already.

Read:
Speed = 8x
Settings = the top two only ( I can't remember the exact wording and can't look it up, I'm at work)they are something like:
*Read subchannel data from data tracks
*Read subchannel data from audio tracks

Write:
Speed = 4X
Settings = only the top one "don't repair subchannel data" <<--I think that is the correct wording.

If this doesn't work try using version 2.7.2.4 and you might have better success.

Cybercop...

PS...many people I have spoken with have told me that evey though their Plextor drives claimed they were compatible they still couldn't use it..granted I wasn't physically there but if they followed my instructions to the letter and the drive was compatible it would of worked..

Dohhh, once again Cybercop, THERE are NO subchannels on a safdiscV2 protected cd-rom !!!!
So you can leave all settings OFF and the backup will work in the writer or in other drives, if you use plextor or iomega. Your explanation is wrong, sorry to say that. And it is quite obvious why (read above). And if your explanation would be true, the original CD would only work in writers, too. Obviously the plextror writers can do something what other writers can't do (maybe it is the bad error correction ???) I don't know. But it has nothing to do with the compatibility of the writer and CloneCD. You can have a 100% compatible writer, but if it is not a plextor (or some other) it likely won't work. So guys, be happy if you can make a self-running backup, even when it only works in your writer, others have to wait for a crack or have to use Deamon-Tools 2.41 (works great by the way). Maybe there will be a solution of this in the future. Until then live with what you have Posting always the same settings for CloneCD helps nobody.

P.S.: Cybercop if you feel offended again, it is your prob :-) But please, if you have probs with me or others, say it here in the forum and don't write me ever an email again, or I have to choose a fictional email too, for the same reasons as you.
YES, I DARED AGAIN WISE-GUY :-D

Of course Captain trips i feel lucky that i bough a really good burner who can make a copy of safedisk 2 and it works in my cd burner but now i
stand in a corner and donīt com any further i will
manage to do a copy that works i all cd reder without any crack and when i get a copy that worked in the cd recorder i started to wonder why.Why works the copy in the plextor cdrecorder but not in my plextor scsi 40 or sony 32. Only when we know WHY we can find a solution to pass safedisk 2 shit protection.
so every one out there come with your tips and
minds so we can manage to bypass safedisk 2.

Well spoken, CaptainTrips
This cyberflop is really a pain in the butt, hehe.
Maybe he should become politician - most of them also say a lot, but know nothing.
I cannot offer a solution on how to create perfect copies of safedisc 2 protected games and I fear (for all I know until now) some of us will have to get a new burner again to be able to. But I can give you at least a few infos.
I don't believe that SD 2 uses subchannel data for the given reasons (I was able to create a 'working' copy of RA2 with a TEAC CD532S, CDR55S and Disc Juggler 300736 - all three not known to be very subchannel friendly ).
VeNoM386 (the programmer of DAEMON Tools) currently works hard on understanding SD 2 and of course to include an emulation for unperfect copies in DAEMON Tools. And if even HE does not fully understand SD 2 yet i doubt cyberflop does. BTW, in his opinion Macrovision did a great job (sad enough *GGG*). The bad sector area (and check) is EXACTLY the same as in SD 1, but they introduced at least TWO NEW CD checks we do not fully understand yet. And until we do I won't speculate about it's abilities (BTW killer, putting together a lot of half-true "read-on-the-web"s will help a shit to defeat SD2 IMHO). But as soon as we're sure what they check and why we'll post it on our homepage.
Until then I can only advise you to TRY (and BTW, using RWs won't help - I wasn't able to create a working copy on a RW - but the same image and settings brought a 'working' copy on a normal media) to burn SD 2. On some recorders you will at least be able to create a copy working in your recorder or even all CDROMS of your PC. But this copy will MOST LIKELY not work on ANY other PC. Some SD 2 protected games (like Delta Force Land Warrior) can even be copied perfect on every recorder. So give it a try (but don't waste more than one media - if it won't work on the first time it will most likely not work second time, too) - CD media are cheap !

Oh, and cyberflop - didn't you want to leave this board *GGGG*. Or did you think this board will lack desinformation if you do so??

@ gud - your infos are totally wrong. There's no such info on a CD media. If it was noone would be able to create a perfect copy!

@ Omega - use the link in my sign to get DAEMON Tools.

BOT is on a distinguished road
yes guys kick this Cybercop in his ass.....
but Swenske TEAC R55S can do Subchannel copies,or even Blindwrite say that he can do this job..but this is another thing.
The mainly news at SD2 are a very very stongly Debugger-detection-the other shit is nearly the same as in SD1.
They wasted their money for that bullshit and not for Subchannel data or such a shit.
But I see SD HD on the horizont...
this is a completly new Safedisc which want to be registered with a key CD every 30days or you programm will stop running.
To get this cd youmust buy the prog and send your adress to the company/or C-Dilla and they send you the key cd back.

Guess what?
I make good copies of sd2 disks. Here's how i do it:
Use CloneCD 2.8.3.1 and the following settings
reading: Fast skip and intelligent bad sector, Writing: don't repair subchannel. While reading open the log file, when you get 'can't read sector...' it should be starting at app. 815 and ends at 10000 or so, give or take a sector. If you get error's at 121 to 126 means that your reader is not good for making copies of sd2 games.
I have a Plextor 4220 as a writer and a DVD-rom 6x32
Another good reader/writer for this method is a HP plus writer (bulk)
4x4x32 and 8x4x32 (tested them both read and write)

Greetings Hanfra

Hallo zusammen,
