Traffic Giant HELP!

OK, I've copied it following a couple of tips posted here, and it works fine... up to the point where you're first awarded an improved bus.. when it crashes back to windows.

Tried turning off animation, video, running at different resolutions but each time, crashes at this same point.

Is this the copy protection? or is it a system problem?
