No-mod patches - PLEASE answer

what is the deal with these. do you not need a modchip to play these certain games?

if you don't know what i'm talking about go here

Giants Citizen Kabuto and tarzan both have them available.
if its true then how do i go about applying them?

no. it only means the game will work with the "cram a knife into your ps2 to open the tray" or "leave your ps2 totally taken apart" kinda swap without chip, but they will not simply boot.

I have Madden 2002 and I have not patched it, and it works great. Also I don't use a mod chip, just game shark 2 which is brand new and not version 1.9. I used DiscJuggler 3.0 to copy the game.
