PLAYING PS2 BACK UPS

CAN ANYONE ASNWER ME THIS MUST I GET MY PS2 CHIPPED TO PLAY BACK UPS OR IS THERE A BOOT UP DISK LIKE THERE IS ON THE PS1 IF THERE ISNT WHAT SHOULD I GET ?

AND TO BACK UP A DVDROM GAME IS A DVDR THE ONLY SIMPLEST WAY?

SOMEONE GET BACK TO ME PLEASE IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE.

the best thing is to get your ps2 chipped and yes that is the simplest way to backup a dvd game.

I think the best options are(in UK):
1. an external neokey/1 wire solder yourself - fairly simple but doesnt play dvdr's.
2. internal neo 2.2 fairly cheap (about 5 quid for bare chip) but soldering of 8 wires is a bit tricky
3. internal chip by 3rd party 25-30 quid.
4. other fancier chips but more expensive and more wires.

I'm no expert but have done 1 and 2 without prior experience, although at times I did feel a bit out of my depth soldering th 8 wire neo 2.2
