###ne Boot Disk not working... or is it the back-ups?

I got the new version 2 ###ne Boot Disks from GameGizmo.com and can't get copies to work. My friend has an older Playstation and he had gotten a PlugMod a while ago. I burned Final Fantasy 8 for him and we tried it out. It worked fine. I don't know what the deal is with patches and such or if you really need them, but the game worked fine.

These ###ne Boot Disks won't get me into games I copy. Since I know FF8 works, I'm using it as my test game. I burned it as I was directed by psxcopyworld.co.uk

It didn't work. When I'm told to switch the disks and press start, nothing happens. It works fine with an origional PS disk, so I don't think the problem is the Boot Disk.

Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong? I read and write the copies at 1X with CDRWin 4 and Nero 5.

Also, Virtual Game Station is able to emulate the copies without a problem. I just can't get it running in the ###ne.

I don't know what the ###ne is about, but that is supposed to be Playstation One

you don't say if you have your station chipped or not, but try copying a different game and then using your boot disk to see if it loads

The Boot Disk IS the chip! You put it in, let it load, and switch it with a copied game, and press start. The switch is not a specific swap trick, none is needed. You just open the lid and switch them. I tried Final Fantasy 9, Nightmare Creatures, Parasite Eve, but none worked. They all worked in the Virtual Game Station program though.

1> you are using a genuine pressed boot up disc and not a copy????

2> when you say that you open your lid, you do have a spring in place to stop your console resetting????

I use a psxchange 2 and it works fine with all my backups

I forgot about the spring. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I did come with a spring, but I though that was just to hold the lid open on older playstations. I didn't think I needed it, because I first held down the little button that is held shut by the lid when it is closed. I turned the ps one on with this button being held down, switched the cds, and still holding it down, nothing happened. Is there another place for the spring? No documentation came with it and the website just said to switch the disks, but maybe I missed something?
