Simple questions from a newbie.

Ok, a couple quick questions:
1: What program do I use to create an image that ends in .iso
2: What program can I use to apply a 'PAL4U' patch? (trying to patch an CDRWIN image of RPG Maker)
3: What is the best all around patching program?
4: How can I find out the protection on certian games?
5: (please include any other info you think I will need to make backups)

P.S.: I have an CD Writed that is compatable with CD clone, CDRWIN, and Nero. I can use any of these three programs to make backups, but don't really know how to properly (tried with RPG Maker and Driver, neither work properly) My system is modified. Please post any useful info. Thanx.
