Errors reading Resident Evil 3 (UK PAL) disc.

Hi there, wondering if anyone can help with a rather puzzling problem im having with the UK/PAL version of Resi Evil 3:Nemesis.

Ok, I use CloneCD for burning all my games and I run ClonyXL first to detect the protection and the settings I need to get around the protection. This works fine on all the games ive copied so far but doesnt work with Resi Evil 3. The problem I have is that I cant even get past the "read" stage, it reads 80% of the CD then says there are errors on the CD and cannot read the sectors after 80%. The original CD runs fine in the PSX and doesnt look scratched. Ive used CDRWin but the same problem occurs, the "read" stage doesnt get past 80%. Could it be a problem with my CD reader? I use a Toshiba CD reader and a TEAC CD recorder, can anyone shed some light? thanking you in advance.

read errors mean damage or dirty disc (you NEVER have read error on psx games) it may play ok and look ok but it must be damage or dirty in someway
