Please help a newbie! PLEASEEEEE :)
Hi all...I downloaded many guides to backup ps2 games from gamecopyworld but I didnt get nothing from them. They say I can do direct copies of ps2 games with Cdrwin, but if I put any game in one of my drives (Traxdata 4x/12x or Toshiba DVD 48x/16x RAW EIDE) I can't even read the cd...they say it's a blank cd. I tried with all stupid PAL games (Onimusha, GT3, Z.O.E.), I could only read GT3 but then CDRWIN said that is impossible to determine the cd mode. What can I do to have this fu**ing backups? Thanks a lot

DVDs don't copy with CDR-WIN - or at least I've never seen it work. In fact, at this time, any valid DVD copying method for films and the like won't produce a playable PS2 backup.

Two Words... "VOB Files"
DVD's contain VOB files that a normal cdrom/writer cant read or identify, Only a DVD Rom or a DVD Burner can identify them. PS2 DVD's at present cannot be backed up seccessfully with any method even if you do have a DVD burner! DVD burner's cost something like £2850.00 so don't event think about going to buy one and at present there is not any software available for copying PS2 DVD's, although someone is probably writing some as i type!

To make a working copy of a non-DVD game you will need a Compatiable CD-rewriter for either of these programs CloneCD , CDRwin if you have that then you are on your way.
CDRwin you need to make an image file first then either apply a patch to by-pass protection then burn back to CD or just burn straight back to CD. CloneCD will make 1:1 copies of games but your Cd-rewriter must be 100% compatible. If you need a tutorial for these programs goto my site on my signature. |
