HELP!!! New PS2 user...wants to copy games from friends

I have read a lot about MODs and other devices which allow a user to play copied versions of games. However, is it possible to simply make copies of PS2 games and play them? If so, how do I go about doing this. I have a Plextor 12X CDRW that I can use. Do I need any special hardware to read the copied CDs (MOD Chips, etc.)?

You'll need a modchip. Go to 2 web sites: Playstationmods.com (for modchip and tutorial links) and Megagames.com for patches you may need when you have digested the tutorials. You'll need CDR-WIN to copy CDs (not DVDs - they can't yet be copied), then you patch the result on your hard drive, and then burn it back to a CD-R.

That's what most of us do. Good luck
