Beginner really needs help

Wow I've been looking for a lead. I'll give this a shot too. Ok I am wondering how to play burned games. I've read about writing them to a file. Then burning them onto a CD. Seems simple enough. Please ellaborate. And the patches. Also I've d/l'd a file to burn for a boot disk. Turned out to be a waste of time. So where do I begin.
Any tutorials? Recommend any programs to burn or read with?
Do I need a mod chip? Seems I've gotten in here too late in the game to be answered such a simple question. (BIG SIGH) Later on people.

right here we go,

1st of you NEED your psx console either chipped or have a cheat cartridge to play back-ups on.

2nd there are 2 types of games Protected and Non-protected.

If a game is protected you need to apply a patch to the game before burning it, this is done using CDRwin and PPF-o-Matic these can be downloaded from WWW.Megagames.com
what you do is create an image file using cdrwin to your hard drive of the game then download the relevant patch from megagames.com, use PPf-o-matic to apply the patch to the image file and then simple burn back to a blank CD.

If the game isn't protected you can do the same process but without the patching bit included.

Or if your CD-writer is 100%compatible then you can use a program called Clonecd to do a staright copy of the game this also includes protected games and is the only software on the market which can do this as it copys the whole cd, but your CD-writer has to be 100% compatible though ##### there web-site for info www.elby.de you can also download it from there.

if you goto www.megagames.com or www.gamecopyworld.com you will be able to find loads of helpful tutorials have fun.

I am in the process of completing my site on how to back-up psx games with loads of helpful tutorials if you are still stuck ##### in about 2 weeks time ##### out www.psxcopyworld.co.uk and it will be live.
