PS1 Burning Probs.. Creative CD Burner?

Hey all. I am having trouble creating PSX games from backups. I read that Creative burners suck it? I got a Creativ CD-RW Blaster 8432 Model MK4214. Am I gonna get no where with this? Or can I update the firmware to a JVQ model (heard of that in another post)? Unsuccessful with CDRwin so far in raw and non raw burning. About to try Fireburner but I wanted to know if I am at a dead end already with my creative. I am using pretty nice dark almost black Maxtor CDRs. Thanks for ya help. Hey and if I am screwed whats the best CDR out there? Most compatiable with everything?
