Your Writer is compatible with CloneCD.
Dont use black cd's they are no good. Good cd's are Verbatim,Basf,TDK,Sony,Traxdata and Samsung cd's. Happy Burning !.

Thanks for the info!
However why do you not recommend black cd's? I had to switch to them coz I had problems with 2 other 80' CD brands (TDK and Princo)... As for CloneCD, do you have tips on which settings to put? Is there a combo of settings that would work on ANY kind of game (prot/unprot)? Thanks! Quote:

Also,
I've read lots of buffer underrun errors while writing such backups... I guess BurnProof fixes this even if errors are intentional right? Can I use the Creative DVD to read the original or is it safer the Plextor? |

I'm using Nero 5.518 with LEAD data and a LG 32x 8x 4x
on a protected game and it works without the patch |

there is no such thing as an intentional error on a PSX game Sony doesn't intentionaly insert bad sectors or blocks on any game. If you get read errors then the game is damaged or dirty.

Hey!
That's nice to know... What about the black media? I thought it was the safest media in the market, since black layer tends to absorb ALL of the light and thus generate less errors, right? Why is it not recommended? WHy are PSX games actually in black layer CDs then? ![]() Quote:

The black cdr are usually a rip-off they are cheaply made and most of them dont work for PSX games. i use them for audio cd's in my car lol

Interesting...
I know many companies sell unbranded black CDs... Well I NEVER buy unbranded CDs.... I preffer to pay a bit more for a bit more of security and right now I've never have had problems with MEMOREX Black CDs but I'll switch to Verbatim if I ever find one... Regarding protected games, say I want to back up original FINAL FANTASY IX which appears on the PROTECTED LIST. If I just copy it with CloneCD, I don't need to patch it later, RIGHT??? So CloneCD creates an EXACT Clone (leaving ECC errors aside from the ORIGINAL, either if it's protected or not, RIGHT? )Please confirm! Thanks. Quote:
