I'm stuck! Patch backup on hold! May-Day,May-Day!
I'm trying to back up my RE Survivor disk. My psx has a mod chip. I have cdrwin. Completed cd image file. Now I have to "extract the patch archive to the path of the cd image file." WHAT!! I open a ms-dos prompt and the do WHAT! I've tried a couple of things but I'm going around in circles.
I'm not sure what patching system I should use, or how to use it once I've got it. Is there anyone who could walk me through this? |

Which patch are you using and which version of RE3 are you trying to backup.
Most patches you dont need to use dos, you would use the PPF-O-Matic patch engine.

It's a protection fix patch US NTSC. After I download it I open it with autoexec. I get a dos page saying autoexec finished. Now what? How do I extract the archive to the path of the image file? Do I do that in the dos prompt? What command do I use if so?
It sounded easy in the instructions from megagames on patching. I know the solution is somewhere right in front of my face. I'm just not getting the whole dos thing. I tried to get the ppf omatic and get the same kind of dos window. |

Use the PDX patch and PPF-O-Matic version 2, you will then be able to patch without going into dos.
All you need is at www.megagames.com including the PPF-O-Matic engine and instructions on how to use it.
