I just found out the EA Sports Swap trick doesn't work with my PS2 (30004,NEO2 AR v1.3).
When I hold down reset for aproximately 10 seconds, I hear some noise inside the PS2 (this must be the tray) but the tray doesn't come out!
Non EA sports backups work perfectly!
What should I do?

when you play a ea sport game, this is how i do it.

ist put ar2 disc in ps2 and turn of, then turn back on but hold the standby/power button untill the ar2 screen comes up. let go of the button the disc will pop out put the ea game in, and start game, without code, job done, hope this works for you as it does for me.
