which chip should i use for my ps2?

i just purchased a PS2...was going to get gamecube but decided PS2 much better game lineup...

i was going to get the USBMOD & DVD-Region-X Bundle Kit from
####://modchipstore.com/ps2/

has anyone had experience with this? or can someone recommend a chip bundle that works really well specially with EA Sports and the latest games.

also going to use nero 5 with my sony 24x burner and toshiba dvd player to make "backups" of my games at 1x. will this be ok.

any advice would be much appreciated

You should consider the internal NEO2.5 (DVD) chip for best v5 PS2 performance (I assume it's a v5 model). See the forum for discussion on v5 issues. That works better with EA CD games than a USB mod.

Nero 5 is fine for music and 5.5.6.4 is fine for DVD backups to a DVD writer. But the only show in town for PS2 game copying is CloneCD (####://www.elby.de). Nero isn't up to copying protected games nor is it suitable for games that you MUST patch (again you can patch a CloneCD image or use CDRWin).

Burning at 1x is only recommended for CDs that require a Long Write Strategy (and perhaps 2x is better otherwise you'll spend your life doing it!). These include Verbatim Datalife Plus and Verbatim AZOs. If you use Verbatim Datalife, then a Short Write Strategy is required and 4x or 8x is best on your Sony burner.

So that's turned your ideas upside down!! But my advice is sound.
