What's your difficulty?

Swap Trick needs a mod chip that interrupts the 'legal' boot sequence at the appropriate point, opens th disk tray, waits just a couple of seconds for you to push the boot disk out and place the backup copy in whereafter the loading process continues.

Mod chip choice is a matter of detail. It seems that PAL PS2 users like the NEO2 mod chip; I'm a Jap PS2 user and am very happy with the first release of the modchip.com mod chip.

Does this help?

not true. there is a knife/cog swap for ps2 that works WITHOUT a modchip, i should know i do it all the time with my backups. you snap the front cover off the tray with a nice flathead screw driver, becareful not to snap the clips. look striaght into the console with the tray in, a maglight helps. you'll see a little tiny white pin, on my cosonle its right under a green mark where the PS symbol used to be. you can slide it right to release the tray, and left to lock the CD in place. practice a few times with something soft and long and thin (sounds sick huh) well i use a plastic butter knife, the teeth on the knife catch nicely. You need a GS2 or AR2 v1.0-1.3 and not a version 4 ps2. now v1.3 works best and most games don't even require a patch. boot up the gs2, go to start game without codes, now the swap, do NOT hit eject, slide the pin all the way to the right, pull out the tray out, put in the backup, push tray in, slide the pin all the way to the left, be gentle yet firm... (also sounds sick). now hit X and it should boot. go here for a list of compatible games. don't ask me anything more thats all you need to know.

A good list of Compatible Games and fixes:

this is not all inclusive but it is pretty sweet.

Great websites guys, I claim NO responsiblity for the websites, or what you do to your ps2, only use it for backups and support the game makers!!!

-there ya go, i'm a little drunk so thats as good as it gets.
