My mod chip won't allow gun to work w/ Time Crisis

I usually burn my games, but I had to buy Time Crisis cuz I couldn't find it anywhere at a reasonable dl speed. Anyway, when I put the game in my psx, the gun wouldn't work with it. My friend tells me it has something to do with the fact that my psx is moded. Is there a patch or any way for me to make a workable copy? I'm willing to burn it or something, just to get the damn thing running.

this is beause you need the namco gun for the game
i came across this years ago when i copyed it
and my universal gun whitch is for both psx and sager saton would not work ether it is not werth bying the gun for that one game as it is rarther expencive i finished play the game with joy pad
and completed game in just over 40 minits

Actually, I did get my generic light gun to work with it anyway. All you have to do is switch from normal controller to the gun at the menu screen, then the game works. Problem solved, ha.
