need help with vrally 2

I have tried and tried to make a workable backup of vrally 2 (pal)i apply the patch through dos and it says "patched ok"then i burn the image .when i go to play the disc it comes up to the pardox mumbo jumbo and then goes to the infogrames screen and just sits there.can any one please help me out.

very 1st game i patched..had a bit o trouble understanding it but got it done..i followed the instuctionon this web page(under "choose ur letter for patch") it sounds like to me u have done something wrong..keep trying
