Is this normal?????
Today I burned EA's NBA Live 2001 and everything went fine except when I started the game the screen was going all crazy and a message came up on the screen (that doesn't come up for the real game), but I could only see a few words like "BAD" and "Patch." Has anything like this happened to you, because this is a first for me.
I did everything right I used CDRWIN, I used a patch, I used Sony CD-R and I have a HP CD-Writer 9100. |

Get a copy of Nero and copy your game to your hard drive, read and write at the lowest possible options avalable,
Then burn with full simulationn to let Nero check your blank disc, if its ok it will tell you so and ask if you wish to copy(burn) now |

Don't get a copy of Nero, stay with CDR-Win cause it's the best and only program for backing up PSX's.Nero is a monster program and its great for audio thats all.
If the game plays still, fine.If not,it could be the patch itself I don't know as I don't have that game.I've never had that problem. Tips- clean both blank cd and game cd read and burn at a slower speed close any programs running in the background uncheck Auto notification and disconnnect boxes in computer properties Defrag regularly |

Why did you use a patch on this game. Its not protected, so unless you need to convert it from ntsc-pal or the other way around you dont need to patch this game. So try burning again with CDRWIN, (dont use NERO) without patching it and it should work fine then.

It sounds like when the patch starts, it switches from PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL depending on where you live. If you are in the US you should run games in NTSC, in Europe run in PAL. Try pressing X or O or other buttons to exit the patch screen & start the game, this should change the game to the appropriate video mode!
Good Luck!
