spyro 2, gateway to glimmer

Hello,

I just captured an image of SPYRO 2 "gateway to glimmer" (not "ripto's rage" !!!), from our video-tape library.

It seems to be an official lender version.

Anyone who got a protection fix ???

@jeex: isn't this a challenge ?

i've never heard of the game! i've only heard of 'ripto's revenge'.. are you somewhere outside of the ntsc area (us, canada, mexico)? and what the hell is your "video tape library" and "official lender version"? are you getting the anti-mod screen, the one that says "this console may have been modified please call 1888#######"?

first thank you for your response.

I'm here in europe (germany), and I just forget to say that it's the PAL/Euro version of this game. Have a look at it here: http://www.coversite.net/covers/psx/covers_oud/Spyro_2_-_Gateway_To_Glimmer_PAL_FRONT1.jpg .

The term "video tape library" comes out of my dictionary... it's the translation of "videothek". Here in germany many "videothek"s are lending/selling n64 and/or psx games.

Anyway... it seems that I'm a real fool !!! I never checked out wheter my backup copy works without any patch....
I just downloaded the patch for spyro2 (ripto's rage) and applied it to my image. Obviously the resulting cd wasn't recognized by my psone.
Afterwards I encountered that there is a difference in the games name, so I assumed that I need a different protection fix....

Now I just burned the unmodified image to a cdr, and it seems to work now. I just played 1/2 h without any anti mod screen (but who knows ?).

By the way... the name "gateway to glimmer" just looks like an alias name for "ripto's rage" because the game content is to collect talismen, jewels and balls and fight against ripto and his gang ;o)...
(a real nice game, isn't it ?).

Is there a special point in "ripto's rage" known where the anti mod screen appears ?

I'm using a psone (scph 102) with a "6-wire" mod chip.

Ooops....

what do you think ??? It seems that the game IS protected.

After I try to travel from the second "world" (summer forest), to any other "world", my psone just freezes with a black screen....

Still a challenge ?

Interestingly, according to Sony 'Gateway To Glimmer' is the ONLY Spyro 2.
Therefore it would seem that as both 'Ripto's Rage' and the above mentioned game both have the same code number (SCES-02104) that you must use that patch.
If you are using a PSONE that could be a different problem altogether, try and test the game in an original PSX.

Ups, now i have the same problem :-(((
I took Spyro 2 from a video tape libery and guess what
kind of Spyro i have ? *ggg*
Gateway to Glimmer :-(((
I tried to get the Patch you told of, but the site always
tell me it would be impossible to get this file
( don´t ask me why )

Do you have any idear wehre i get it from ?
Or any hint how to copy the game ????????
I copy with CDRWIN and the normal copy works
till i will leave the summer lever :-P
