Bad audio on burns

Generaly when I burn a psx game it works fine except the cutscreans and even the beginning company logo animation will stop and go spiraticaly. It's almost like the motors going out, but it only does this on burns. The gameplay is always fine.
I'm using CloneCD with both 'Read subchannels checked'. I've tried to read and writing at X1. I am unable to check the 'Don't repair Subchannel' box'. Is that the problem?
