Crash Bash Quirks

Here is my dilemma with Crash Bash. I just rented the game from Blockbuster, and the original game works perfectly fine (like, it doesn't detect my modchip... my modchip is an older non-stealth modchip). I copied the game, and when I put the copy in... it DOES detect my mod chip and halts. How can the psx differentiate between a real disc and a copied one if I have a mod chip? And if there is a detector in the copy, wouldn't the detector be in the original and halt my game?

Any ideas? Is there any way to NOT copy the modchip detection part of the game? Like is it in a seperate track or something?
