Newbie-Can someone please help me out with a few questions?

Hello all. I am very new to copying games, I was wondering if you could all help me with a few questions? I would really appreciate it. I have a ps2, and I got it modded from http://www.playthegames.com I am trying to copy and patch some american games and Im having a little bit of trouble. This mod chip is not supposed to use the swap trick. I am using wincdr to make the bin files and everything. I was wondering what patcher I should use to make these games playable? I have been using the patches for the swap trick and of course they wont work. I was wondering if using the paradox patcher would help me out, and I was wondering if Sony CD-R's are good for burning games? Or should I use another brand. The mod chip supposed works according to them. I would really appreciate any help that you all could give me. Thank you very much for your help. Take care

well unfortunately...the us chipp has had a lot of problems..the only chip that seems to work pretty well is the one for the jap 15000 model....and whoever it was that told you , you wouldn't have to do the swap for ps2 games lied....you still need to swap those, but not your old psx back ups...
