a question about dummy

Why dummy?

excuse me but I'm a newbye and I don't ave completely understood if the dummy is TO DO or is an optional.

can you tell me exactly what do the dummy file?
if I make a CD without dummy can I damage the console?
how can I dummy an selboot image of the planetweb alredy made for diskjuggler?

A dummy files is bank space to make games load faster.

A dummy files is bank space to make games load faster. You don't need the to play games but it makes loading time faster. I don't think it would hurt your dc anymore than a regular game.

On some games, not using a dummy may have undesirable effects on the graphics, such as invisible buildings in CrazyTaxi-2. The reason this occurs is that the drive cannot keep up with the 3D engine's need for new skins on the buildings and stuff, therefore the buildings will be invisible (you don't even see them for a second or two, until the drive catches up with the game).
