ChAnGiNg MOD ChIpS?!?!?!

I just ordered a USB mod and I was wondering if in the future i were to get a dvd burner (causing me to want a modchip that allows me to play dvd backups) how hard would it be to remove the single wire sodered into my ps2 and install another chip? Is this risky behavior? Maybe i wouldn't even have to remove the wire at all.

Well thanks in advance

Well, you've got to install the new modchip or have it installed for you. If you're nervous about 1 wire, you'd better get it done professionally and have the USB Key wire removed.

I would in install a internal chip from the start. I have a usb mod and am not saying anything bad about it other than having to use the cardswap to play dvdr backups. Alot of the games being released now are dvd so its something you will have to be dealing with and ripping games to cdr is VERY time consuming. odds are you will advance to a dvd writer and wont be satisfied with the usb mod, No use getting something installed that in 2 month you are not going to be happy with.
