Carrier --- pleeaasee help !!

G'day

I'm trying to make a backup of a backup. The game's "Carrier". All other games work fine,
but this one...

I tried Nero 5, CloneCD and DiscJuggler, all of them indicated no error - but not one of the backups I made works at all. (I created disc images as well as I did "on-the-fly")

By now I am pretty desperate and would greatly appreciate ANY hints and clues.

Thank you!

Usually two methods of making a backup of a backup:

1) Creating an ISO image using something like CDRWIN or DiscJuggler, both will create images, just DJ will create CDI images instead. Once the image is made, load the image and burn it to CD.

2) Do a straight CD-to-CD copy, have the backup in your CD-ROM drive and the blank CD-R in the CD-R(W) drive and burn it.

If both of these methods are failing, then it is most likely human error, to which I cannot assist you.

Thank you for your reply!!
However, I believe we have a misunderstanding here.
Usually I do not encounter any problems when I backup a backup for DC, "Carrier" is the one and only game that keeps causing trouble. I already tried two different back-ups of it - with identical results. I can make the backup w/o any problems, but when I insert the disc into the DC the drive just spins and I get the selection screen ("Play", "VMU", "Music"....you know). In some cases, however, the DC directly jumps into the music play menu (with the big white-blue disc)

The game cannot be ####ted anyway, not even with a bootdisc (although the backup should be self-bootable anyway)

Can anyone think of anything - ? What can I try?
Thanx

Are you sure that the file integrity is good? Did the game come compressed? If so, do you have all of the files? Give us some more info, bro.

Well, the game is on a 700MB CD and works perfectly fine including the self-boot. What more info could I give you....

the CD has a lot of files on it, many .GWV and some "AREA*.PVM"-files.....and quite a lot more stuff....doesn't look compressed to me....

I also tried a RAW-Copy with CloneCd but even that had no effect, the backuped backup just won't ####t.

If I can give you any more info, please tell me. Thank you for your reply!

Ciao
Chester~~

The only thing I can suggest would be to use DJ to make a CDI file.. Then take the CDI file.. (make sure it's self bootable) and go from there.. Other than that.. no clue

Thanks again. No problem with making an CDI-image but how can I ##### whether it is bootable? I can hardly boot it on PC, can I?
Or did you mean that I should ##### the backup on my DC? Already done, of course
WHat DJ-settings do you suggest? Please post them.

Thank you very much
