ANYTIPS ON HOW TO RIP DC > PC

Hi Guy`s thinking of purchasing a serial connector cable DC>PC from Lik-sang online..
can anyone tell me how to Backup cd to pc what software is involved and any relevant information before i purchase this piece of kit.. My m8`s got over 100 original GD`s and he would like his collection safeguarding as well..

Any help or info would be most helpfull..

If you want to try serial ripping, (I have NOT), I understand that it is a time consuming process (each rip takes about a day). Once you do the RIP, you have to extract the files, downsample any movie files that are there, possibly shorten some or rip out some of the audio tracks if any are present, rip out certain files as you determine their usefulness (German, French or Spanish language support, for instance), and patch and hack the necessary files to make them work on a CD-R, all the time hoping it's going to fit on a standard 74 or 80 minute CD.

The better suggestion is to hit your favorite download site and download a copy of each disc that's already been converted. It's much easier and quicker.
