Baldurs Gate 1 Enhanced Edition HD Videos project

hey all, dont know where this thread should go so @grumpy @pakrat please move this thread to the appropriate section..

Howdy all. I just wanted to drop a note saying that Im working on remaking the webm videos for baldurs gate enhanced edition and converting them to HD.
of course you will need your legally purchased copy of BGEE - Faces of Good and Evil to use these videos in the game

I will have to host the file on my mediafire account because its over several hundred mb in size. I will be posting a thread later on with the link. hope you all enjoy my HD video redux overhaul of the BGEE cutscenes

reason i decided to do this is that the cutscenes in the beamdog version of baldurs gate enhanced edition are not very good quality so i got a copy of the higher quality videos from spellhold studios which has a open source free mod that replaces the videos with better quality ones, but i took it a step further and encoded the videos at 1280x720 resolution and removed the black bars at the top and bottom of them for that 'real movie' feel, plus i re-encoded the videos at 4 mbit/sec bitrate instead of the low 1-2 mb/sec bitrate or lower they were initially produced at to bring them up to todays modern HD video quality. of course there will be some blurryness and grainy effects in them since they were initially encoded in webm video but hope you enjoy nonetheless.

here is what to do with the videos to get them into the game, and btw i did test the videos and they do show up correctly in the game ^^

1.download the 7zipped mod from my mediafire page.
2.extract the two folders, movies and lang to your baldurs gate enhanced edition root folder.
3.confirm when it asks to overwrite.
4.Enjoy full screen HD cutscenes!! ^^
5.BTW i removed the 480/low res movies from my archive because the 720p ones look sooo much better.
but if you REALLY want the 480p ones with the bars removed from the top and bottom, i may consider doing that at some point
as well as the non FOE edition videos. just want to see you alls comments once you check out my edits.
hope you all enjoy my work, and of course the original videos and game are credited to beamdog.

I like the way the style... But you have to make video as 1080p (60fps recommended)
