It IS a way around the copy protection, the LBA 45000 trick places the game data to ####tt at an LBA of 45000 on the disc, this is how an original GD-ROM is set up.

If you think about it when you back up a game, you exactly copy the game data to your pc, but when you burn it it doesen't work sometimes right, this is because the copy protection has to be defeated and the LBA info has to be corrected, but the files are exact copies of the GD-ROM so why does'nt it work?
It is because that when we burn games the LBA structure of the game data changes from 45000 (ORIGINAL GD-ROM) to whatever you type in when "binhacking" (after burning the AUDIO.RAW) 11700 or 11702 but the DC is looking for info at LBA 45000 until the 1st_read.bin is hacked. The 1st_read.bin has to tell the DC were the LBA game data is ####ting at.

So if you copy a game using the 45000 trick the DC sees it as an original GD-ROM and should boot ok. The problem with the 45000 trick is that it takes up roughly 80MB of valuable disc space when trying to copy large games such as SONIC.

Hope this helps

Thanks a lot. I totally understand it now. But one more thing, does the lba 45000 trick eliminate the hack3, or any of those other hacks or do you still needs those??

It eliminates ALL the hacks cuz the DC doesen't know that it's not an original disc............
N.B I recently ripped ferrari F355 unpacked the files, created an .iso did not touch any files apart from adding a dummy track and burnt using the 45000 trick, worked firstr time.........

SO sysco_1, now i got my DOA2 to work, now i have a new opstical called downsizing and burning 18 audio tracks that i ripped from the GD rom. just wondering if you want to ####t doing this over the email or if you want to use a chat program or something? anywayz my new game is Monaco Grand Prix. and i just tried it, and i found that it is not possible to use the audio.raw file that comes with self boot and the track04.wav-track22.wav on the same cd? so what i did it bump all the audio tracks and sent on with the regular step and i got a nice coaster. Oh well. so 2 questions, can you downsize by deleting files that you don't want and will the DC game just skip over them?(Like intos and audio) is there a way to detect what protection is being used? and how to burn a game that has the audio tracks on it? thanks man. ps. my email is chalanderbing**********com and ICQ=35821109, zonefriends name is chalbing, and i think that my AOL messanger is also chalbing, but i am not sure.
