Patches
All the patches seem to be for the bin of the game. The games I'm trying to patch came to me in cdi format. So do I just use the cdi in place of the bin or is there someway to convert it? Th patch I'm specifically trying to do is Soul Caliber.
For those of you read this looking for how to patch games: goto www.dccopyworld.com and get one of the PPF patchers there. I suggest PPF-O-MATIC. |

You're confusing the .BIN from CDRWIN with the .BIN (Binary) files the Dreamcast uses.
The .bin files you're looking to patch are found INSIDE the .cdi file. You'll need something like CDMAGE to extract the files from the .CDI file if you wish to patch them. |

u can patch .CDI images with applyppf just follow the instructions below, this was written 4 sports jam but the proceedure is the same...........
YOU NEED TO USE THE SHORT DOS FILE NAME!!!!!!!!!!!! Put the PPF patch file into a directory, open up a dos window and go to that directory were the patch file is. eg C:\temp Type dir in the dos window and the patch file will be listed with a different name eg S-je~ch.ppf (remember this new name) Then put the .cdi image and the applyppf.exe also into C:\temp with the patch file. So in C:\temp u should have S-jam image.cdi/applyppf.exe and the sjech.ppf (patch file) Then in the same dos window type APPLYPPF.EXE E-Sjam.cdi (new name.ppf that the dir command gave u) eg S-je~ch.ppf and hit enter. Try this if still no luck post back!!!!!!!!
