I would recommend you to mail EAGames and tell them what happened. Since you do have the original key you will be fine. They will probably ask for something like a photo of the case where the key and the broken disc is visible.

You should have a big chance of getting a new disc.

According to the game manual, it will cost only 10,- Euro (Handling Charge) to get a replacement disc.
