Battlefield 2 patch 1.03 released
 

as this is great news I thought I'd spread the word!
The patch weighs in at 175mb(!) and is avaible from here;

There is over 140 tweaks and changes in it, a new map(!!!!) and some fixes.

I would recommend you to find a torrent of the patch as the pressure on the servers is very high.
Note: this is a public patch thus making torrents of it legal. I will not say where to find the torrents though but I am sure you can do for yourself.

I don't want to uninstall the game to check this out.
Can anyone tell me, if it's needed to keep the 1.02-Patch on my harddisk, or can i install my game and then V1.03 without V1.02?

I have 6551 Point. Since the new patch i'm promoted to Staff Sergeant. Before the patch i had needed 50.000 points for this rank!!!
I think it isn't good to get the higher ranks that easy.

Because of the promotion i have now already 4 weapons unlocked (G36, Sniper, PKM, Gun for Medic).
But i only can use the weapons when i play as USMC. Anyone else with the same problem? Don't know if this was also so before the V1.03 update.

Does someone know, until when all the ranked servers must be updated to V1.03?

The "keep it to kosmiq's thread" sounds good enough for me... :D

About updates and other questions, here is what I know:
1. You can apply the 1.03 patch directly without installing the previous (1.02) one. You can also update from 1.02 to 1.03.
2. They have lowered the requirements for each rank very drastically so it will be easier for people to gain all unlocks. However they have also added new ranks that is higher up. Something about Officer ranks and so on, more ribbons have also been added and a few more medals if I am not mistaken.
3. That you can only use your weapons with USMC is strange. It has always been so that all 3 teams have been able to use the unlocks, otherwise it would be kinda pointless. Report the bug to EA and maybe they can help you out.
4. I doubt that there is a certain limit to when the servers must be updated, but my guess is that they will be very soon anyway. Simply because most users updates their game as soon as they find out about the patch.

looks like they have chanmged the point rankings, loads of people have been promoted, as for the weapons, it is strange, all my unlocks work with every army, as for the upgrades, all ea's have been upgraded, upto the clan's/people running the other servers as to when they upgrade, but will imagine it will be soon as it seems like every one is upgrading!! Bout time you got some points for destroying the enemy radars/guns!!! And on a final not no more punishable teamkills for commanders when they use artillery and then people just ignore their maps and then blame you for killing them!! Oh and no more accidental kills resulting in punishments!!!

Result EA!! Just give us more new maps!!!

I have a prob, maybe u can help me...

I bought the game when it came out...
Now some time after my kid brother decided to play with the cd and broke it... :( I still got my original cdkey so thats fine (So I thought)
I dl Battlefield 2 - RELOADED rip... Installed it and updated it to version 1.03.
I dl the BLEH! mini-image so I could play without the RELOADED DVD rip mounted on d-tools. (BTW with the RELOADED version mounted on d-tools doesnt work... I must use a NO-DVD to play.) The game loads but after the BF2 logo and a black screen, the games jumps back to windows...

Any help? What can I do to play with the RELOADED dvdrip installed (Thanks little brother! :S) I must use some kind of NO-DVD... But wich one?

The other things is that I dont have the cash to buy another copy, my budget is very small nowadays... And I dont have any friend that has a BF2 original copy. They all play WoW (Dam people!) So my only solutions is to dl a rippet version from the net. I really want to continue to play my favorite game. As i stated before, I bought my own original copy a long time ago. all I have left is my cdkey. Thanks to by baby brother who think everything is a toy. Duuno how he could climb up to my desk. But I must have forgotten to hide the DVD folder inside a draw. I left it on my desk... :( Plz my friends help me out. I really dont have any money to buy another copy.
