My next step is to make a direct copy to the XBox HDD with the new EOVx dashboard. See if loading off the HDD will have no texts also. I will post the result here when I have it.

If anyone can help me, please guide me to the right direction! Thanks all!

I did end up trying to ftp the Bruce Lee game to the XBOX, and using the EvoX dashboard to Launch it....... and IT WORKS!!!! I really can't make any logic of this. I'm assuming there is a problem when making the ISO file... I did retry burning the ISO on a Verbatum DVD-RW, and I still had the same problem.... So for now, I'm playing the game through the XBOX HDD.. The game is actually growing on me. I wasn't a big of it at the start, but I'm about half way through it now.... I think I might try burning the Bruce Lee ISO on a different type of media.... I heard Melody isn't too bad for a cheap type... Any opinions???

Schotty..

ps. anyone had any luck with successfully backing up MotoGP. Any problems doing so?? Any info at all???

Well..that's good. But I don't want to keep the game in the HDD forever. We stilll need to make a ISO of the game. If you are able to run the game off the HDD with no problems, then maybe the trouble is at XiSO program itself. That's what I am using to make the iso. But can we use NERO to make a DVD-ROM of the game and still be runnable on XBox? Or does XiSO does something special to the ISO so that only XBox can recongize it? I guess I have to wait till XiSO comes out with a new version. Funny thing is that pirated copies are out there already, and I am assuming that they got the text part working. I wondered what they did to do so?

Solution Found?

I think I got the solution in copying games I've been having problems with. So far, the only three games I have is Halo, Bruce Lee and Obi-Wan. Used XiSO to make the ISO files. Halo backed up with no problems. Bruce's copy has no text but the gameplay is fine. Obi got no sound and hangs when loading. I've been searching and searching to find a possible solution to these problems. And now I think I have it. I found another method in backing up your original games. Thanks to Xbox-Genius from XBox-Scene forum for the steps. Basically, just make a DVD-ROM. Now Obi-Wan works with no problems. I just ran out of dvd-r and time to try the same method on Bruce Lee. If it works also, I'll post the result here.

Ok first we start with the simple stuff.

Xbox "retail" DVD's cannot be read in your PC, nor can you copy them on your PC.

You must insert the "retail" DVD into your Xbox with Evolution-X running from the hard drive.

Once you do this, you then run FLASHXP on your PC to connect to your XBOX.

In flash XP open up the D:\ drive on your Xbox and you will see the contents of the retail DVD.

You then SELECT ALL and TRANSFER the files into a folder on your PC.

After it is done, exit FLASHXP.

Put a new DVD blank in your DVD recorder.

Start up RecordNowMax and select "New Job/ Data Disk".

Make RecordNowMax NOT take up the entire screen, so you can see "My Computer".

Open "My Computer" and find the folder you download the files to via FTP.

DOUBLE CLICK on that folder to open it (you are "moving into" it...).

With the folder open hit SELECT ALL. (CTRL-A)

DRAG AND DROP everything into the right hand "spreadsheet" type window in RecordNowMax.

Hit burn, watch some tv.

When it's done, insert into Xbox, reboot and be amazed.

One quick (well...) question;
I have seen many people talking about transfer the game from the xbox to the PC with "flash XP". Does it have to be that program, or is a "normal" ftp ok ?
I did use a normal FTP program, it works nice (so far, only one problem).
Have made backups of some games with ordinary ftp, and burned them. Now, the first problem has accured.
When playing Desertstrike in the sewers (level 9 or so?) the game stops. Tried a couple of times. Hangs each time.

Could it be that I don't use flash xp ? Sounds strange though.

Another strange thing (maybe I'm too newbie); why ISO's ? I did atransfer to the PC HD and burned on a CD-R or sendt back to the Xbox HD. No problem. Kept the games on the PC, kept it in RAR to save space. Why ISO ? It takes longer time to extract etc., I can't se the advantages ?

You don't have to have FlashFXP, but I find it useful when it makes a list of files to be transfer before doing so. And if any file failed, it is displayed. So you can continue off where the error was. Once the transfer is done, you know for sure that all files has done transfered.

I don't ISO the game anymore. I just transfer the files and make a data DVD-R. It works better that way. Once done, I test the disc and delete the HD's files.

That's my 2 cents

Well, thanx man!
Usefull. I will try flashXP. Sounds cool to get a message that tells what wen't wrong when doing a transfer.
I see that cute as a XP ftp, but I'll go for flashXP.
Can't wait to get home, new pc, and new things to try out
