Need a little help with NERO & CDRWIN - please

1) i have nero 5.0.3.1 and the cd-copy is limited. In the read options menu the 'retries' are set at 1 and no adjustment. Also the 'data mode2' is not adjustable. Anyone know why i cant adjust? 2) i have CDRWIN 3.8c i have successfully read the psx data and the burn process went successful too. but nothing happens when i try to play in the psx.

please help

Hi!
You need to have your psx modified in order to be able to read copied games. Some shops can do it. They put a special chip in it to disable the protection against piracy. There is no way to play a copied game in a normal PSX.

For Nero, I don't know. But don't bother about mode 1, its an ooooold mode used by DOS and Windows 3, which takes much place. Using mode 2 provides better reading speed, higher capacity (full 650 Mo). But mode 1 is easier to read if the mode 2 CD can't be read at all.

Hope it helps

No shit! I have a mod chip installed. I have copied tons of psx games on my old computer. I have a new computer now and nero & cdrwin doesnt fully work on it. For Nero in the read option the data mode 2 isnt adjustable. Nor is the retry. Thats what i am asking why these options are not adjustable?

Im not upto date with the newest version of Nero, but if it anything like the old 4.0.*.*. i had the same problem. All i needed to do to adjust these options was to check off 'on the fly'. U probably done this already but i thought id mention!!

I think i know what is wrong, most games can be succesfully copied with cdrwin but some games which are copyright protected need to be PATCHED, in order to do this u will need to create an image and get a patch and patcher tool (get it from the psxcopyworld link at top of page), once u ahve it u patch the image file and then burn the image. If possible c if ur cd writer is supported by clone cd as it is the best cd copying tool as it writes in raw mode it is also a good programme because u will NEVER have to patch a psx game even if it is copyright protected as it copies everything on the disk
