First of all sorry for my bad english...
I tried to copy my friend's working Crazy Taxi to a new disc. Just take all the files from the CD and burned them into a new 650 Mb disc. Not used any CDI files or something like that. Of course it didn't work on my DC. I have all the files for game in a CD but it is not working. How can i make a new CDI to burn the game from these files? Can i make this CD work? Please help 'cause i don't want to redownload Crazy Taxi!!! |

Well as far as i know Crazy Taxi is not self-bootable.
In that case, what you tried should work (with the boot-disc of course), I can tell cause it worked out for me earlier with succes. Anyway, if the game is self-bootable, it means there's more than one session then what you tried would have failed because you have to had made use of the exact same session layout, which gets lost when you transfer the files to yer HD. The solution is use discjuggler to make a .cdi, keeps the layout intact. -cheers |

I have the Eurasia (??) release of Crazy Taxi and you're right, I think... It wasn't self-booting. It is easy, however, to convert it to self-boot, either by following the Echelon tutorial (as I did) or by using BIN2BOOT on the original BIN file you downloaded. The resulting .CDI file will burn into a nicely bootable game using Disc Juggler.
In the case of RaMa's problem, if you can use Roxio Easy-CD Creator on your machine, take the disc you have and make an ISO image (make only an ISO image, not their other image formats). Once you have an ISO, you should be able to run BIN2BOOT on it to create a .CDI file which you can burn using Disc Juggler. The new disc should then be self-booting. you prolly didn't copy the subchannel data,.. you gotta use a program that copies EVERYTHING. personally,.. i'd use either clone cd or disc-juggler. but that's just me. maybe i'm way off. the thing is,.. you're gonna have to get ur friends cd again, and copy that, again,.. using a program that copies all data.

Thanks
Thanks for your help but it's not important for me that the disc is Self-Booting or not. I just want a working Crazy Taxi. I've all the bin and afs files of the game. Just want to make these files a CDI file and burn it with diskjuggler...
I'll try your solutions and tell ya... |

Yeah daleandjess but...
daleandjess i know i didn't copy everything. I just copy the files from working CD and paste them into a new CD. There must be something to do more and i can't do them now. Because friend's CD is faaaar away from me now :P
I thought that if I make a CDI file from these files and burn with diskjuggler, everything will be fine! But i don't know how to do it That is the real problem!!!

Easy...
Try to look for a file called "ip.bin". If you can find it, you should be able to burn a working CD with all the files you have.
If your game doesn't work, I guess you don't have any "ip.bin". Or you didn't use a boot disk. So... I've got a solution for you, but you won't have any CDDA (musics, I don't remember if this game had CDDA or not). 1) put all your files in a directory ("C:\Data\" for example) 2) use CDRWin : _ click on the 4th icon _ choose "build an ISO 9660 image _ uncheck "preserve full pathname" _ check "long filenames", "recurse subdirectories" _ enter your image filename (for example "data.iso") _ click on "Start" You should get an ISO 9660 image called "data.iso" 3) use Bin2Boot with this image. If it tells you you don't have an ip.bin file, choose "create it". http://www.megagames.com/console/cgi...cgi?b2b_gui01b!rar You should get a CDI file 4) burn this file |
