so then whats the bottom line....

on no solder chips, how bad do they mess up your disc tray?I just installed one a month or two back and I have yet to have any troubles, is there trouble on the horizon for me?and also about the messiah.....anyone know anywhere in canada that sells pre modded messiah consoles that dont cost bout 599(american)?

Regarding your no solder mod. These mods control the eject motor, and as such do it at a different speed to the original PS2 controller. As a result of the higher speed, the cogs that are on the motor spindle that push the tray out wear down a lot faster. The following result is obvious. Take note that this wear is normal for any PS2 - it just occurs a lot faster when this mod is installed.
