Help on choosing a burner

I'm looking for a external burner. I found two that I'm stuck between choosing. What' is a better external burner to have a Hewlett Packard or Phillips.

HELP!

In my opinion it mostly depends on what you want to burn and which software you want to use with...in the forums there are many messages about good combinations between writers/programs...I can suggest to decide the software you want to use, then check the compatibility of that software with the burners you are thinking about, and which kind of protections they are able to copy...then make your choice ;-).

It somewhat helped, I mostly burn DC, PSX, PC and Audio's. However the programs I use are, Nero, CDR Win and Discjuggler. Have any more in depth ideas now, Or iss it still the same answer?
