patching question?

I've not had a lot of experience in patching, I'm following a detailed tutorial with pics using cdrwin, ppf omatic, and an ea pal patch.

Trying to patch fifa 2001, but keep making coasters however get message that bin file size is incorrect.

I've tried two different methods but discs still wont boot.

(V5 with messiah)

I am trying to make the patch from a backup, is this where I'm going wrong? does the bin file to patch have to be from an original?

Any advice appreciated

The *.bin file that you are trying to patch does not have to be from an original. However - upon saying that... It has to be a good copy!

Thw other thing is... if the file you are patching is a rip, and has already been patched for PAL NTSC reasons, then you may not have a great deal of success. My advice is to get a new TV that can uderstand both video formats. They com a dime a dozen. If you cant afford that get an NTSC - PAL signal converter. It all saves mucking around making coasters.

Problem doesnt seem to be tv related.

All my backups run on my v5 messiah with exception of fifa 2001 ps1. It boots up with ps1 logo, then just freezes, so I assumed it needed patching. still boots fine on ps1.

Perhaps I'll just wait a few days till my A04 arrives, then burn a dvd of fifa 2002.
