Weird problem with HP 8100!!

I just received an HP 8100 plus (4X2X24) burner. Burns onto cd-rw no trouble. However, when using cd-r disks (tried different brands) the burn seems to go OK (no errors) and the disk looks to have been written to. But when i try to read it, it is empty! happens with Nero and cdr-win under both win98 and xp.

seems funny to work only with cd-rw and not a regular cd-r.
any idea whats going on here?

the burned cd-r then cant be read by either the cd-burner or my cd-rom drive. under Nero i get an access error and under windows98 it shows up as empty.

however under Nero's "Medium-info" it correctly reports the size of the iso (432 mg) but only shows the tracks not files or folders.

Are you sure you have good serial. Nero make coaster cdr and good cdrw when you have bad key. CdrWin do the same trick (i'm not sure if it does good cdrw with bad key).

Try copying with CloneCD. I have the same trouble with CDRwin, possibly because of the number of time's I've installed it..

Hope it works out.
