Tutorial on www.psxcopyworld.co.uk.

PrimoDVD has to be updated to latest PX Engine (from Prassi support site). It then splits the 4.4GB into a number of files that can be handled by FAT 32 (which I presume is your PC file system).

If you have NTFS then PrimoDVD will copy the original to hard disk and will complete provided you have enough room on your hard disk (say 110% of the original DVD size). The limit is 4.7GB.

So in full, good English, no abbreviations please explain further:

1 At what point does it go wrong? During copy or burn?
2 What error message or event occurs?

i use prassi primo running on ntfs buld a image to the hard drive the same as the 6 other dvdr back ups that ive already done which are all under 4300mb and boot up great in my ps2 fitted with messiah but STATE OF EMERGENCY shows 4400mb in prassi so i when i come to burn to cdr is fails and tells me that i need more room as its 4400mb so i use a dvdr and it burn ok i try it in the ps2 fitted with messiah and it wont work .
I do dvds backups as well and a guide line for them are if its over 4300mb then rencoding or taking extras out is a way to over come this and someone replyed to me that STATE OF EMERGENCY would fit on a cdr with out ripping but mine keeps showing that its 4400mb so its not possible to do so

It still needs ripping in a sense, nothing has to be taken out of the game itself though. On the DVD it has a fake TOC making it look a lot bigger than it actually is.

The limit is 4.7GB so 4.4GB is no problem for PrimoDVD. You say you burned from hard disk to DVD-R and there was no error message. Yu say the game won't play. So I suspect the condition of the original. Did you use the tutorial at www.psxcopyworld.co.uk? If not what PrimoDVD setting did you use? Ignore read errors?

Of course you cannot copy a DVD to CD-R.

I've already told you. My equipment is in my signature; software is PrimoDVD; ibstructions as at www.psxcopyworld.co.uk; my SoE original was undamaged.

Try another copy. Why shouldn't it be that if you have NTFS and so no hard disk problems (there is room on your drive, yes)?

Hi Argo

Depends what you want to do. For PS2, all the necesary DVD-R stuff is on the various PS2 forums. For movie stuff, you'll gradually piece it together from these sites or better still, get onto good terms with Dust who has cracked the difficult task of ripping DVD movies to DVD-R.

One of my favourite sites is http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html just for the knowledge.
