Any chance you could put up a tutorial then for making DVD-Rs? We do get these questions from time to time and MAC users are rarely on. I can get it published at one of the web sites if you like.

as elkayps2 said search for the "toast" posts that's how I found out.

This how I backup on a mac anyway

software used:

dvd extractor
toast titanium
cd copy

DVDR's
use dvd extrator to make a dvd image file of your original dvd

double click on the image file (this will open toast), put in your blank dvdr and record

PS2 CD's

open cdcopy, put in your original ps2 cd and save and image file

open toast drop the ps2 cd image file onto the toast window and record
now put in your blank cdr

that's no patches needed, i have a v5 and a plug in modchip and load them with a2v2.02

hope this helps

If games are being created from the PS2 DVD method on Mac, will they work on any mod chip PS 2? If so, what version of AR or GS will I need? If not, will I have to change my old chip?

i'm using a v5 plugin chip with AR2v2.02 to boot my dvdr's, I read that AR2v2.01 and 2.02 are the only ones that work this because newer versions have the Dave Mirra codes bug changed.

I took my new version back and found v2.02 in HMV in Hull on the front of the box it has an ad about GTA3 Codes the ones with the ad for MGS2, I think are the newer versions, any as the sales assistant to open the box and look at the reverse of disk one on the inside of the disk you should see the version number.

hope this helps, but what version of chip do you have

Funny. I don't even know what chip I have inside my PS2. I got it chipped at a local store. The only thing I know is that the chip is made in Hong Kong.
So none of the Game shark can boot a DVD-R copy game?
