The lastest version of Clone is basically automatic, you click on the icon and let it do it's thing. So far I haven't had any trouble with it.

When ever I check the settings there right on, so I never mess with them any more.

In the past i used the cd to cd copy method. But i just printed out a guide where you use the 'read image to disk' method than burn it. There is a program out called ClonyXL that read the psx game for you, tells if there is any protection and automatically sets the settings for you. its cool.

NO rubberman02, clony is shit for psx games. it doesnt actually know that theres a protection, it just says psx libcrybt as the protection. only someone with little experience would use this program for psx. it will say that every game is protected even if it protected or not. only use it for pc or audio protection detection.

Try these settings for CloneCD....

What settings should I use to backup my disks?
Use the following Settings
PC - Safedisk
Reading - Fast Error skip checked
(You can check the first two, but may increase read time, or even may not work).
Writing - All off.

PC - Laserlock
Reading - All off (Using "Bad sector Scanner" may increase read speed for weird "custom" protections).
Writing - All off.

PC - SecureRom
Reading - DigitalID on, all other settings off.
Writing - All off.

PC - ProtecCD
Reading - DigitalID on, Read Extra Audio Data on.
Writing - All off.

PSX - Unprotected
Reading - All off.
Writing - All off.

PSX - Protected
Reading - DigitalID on, Extra Audio Data on.
Writing - Don't Repair subchannel data on.

PC - Unprotected, PhotoCD
Reading - All off.
Writing - All off.

Audio CD's
Reading - Extra Audio Data on.
Writing - All off.

REMEMBER : Your burner needs to be 100% compatable to get the best out of CloneCD.

CloneCD works fine for US NTSC so far.....

Using the same settings as buzzon listed, CloneCD hase worked flawlessly for me with both PSX and PS2 CD's. No problems other then I had a poor quality CDR at first. The trick is a FULLY compatible reader and burner (preferrably use the burner for read also).

Good Luck!

You might need to change your region.

If the option to "dont repair subchannel data" is not available then you might have to change your region (if you're in the USA). When you setup CloneCD it should say you're in the USA so it can't give you that option. I had to quit setup, go to Control Panel and Regional Settings and then choose Canada. Then I had to restart my computer and then start Clone CD setup again and it works fine, gave me no warning and I can choose dont repair subchannel data. Some say that after setup you can change your Region back to USA but I tried and then dont repair subchannel data wasn't available so I changed it back.

Amplify Weak Sectors

I think "Amplify Weak Sectors" is the setting you have to do the Canada region change for--this helps get around some copy protection schemes. I'm setup for US, and I have all sub-channel options. That is related to your hardware's compatability, if I remember correctly. If the drive doesn't support it (can be changed sometimes by a firmware revision) than you are pretty much fubar if it is needed for a working copy.

Good Luck!
