Unhappy ps2 repairs with mod chip

I have had my mod chip in my ps2 since the chip first came out. but now my controller port doesn't work and i need it fixed. I can't send it in because the mod chip is installed. does anyone know the best/cheapest way to get this problem fixed. thanks in advance for the help

You can still take the PS2 in to be repaired - its just you will not be covered by the original manufacturer warrenty.

You also can repair it your self! It is very easy to do.

Just open your ps2 and look at the mainbord for the fuse's and use a multimeter to check them and just replace it for a new one.

It is for 90% that it is only a fuse.

i don't know what i would be looking for. do you know of anyplace that would have a diagram that could help me? and where could i get the parts i need? thank you

or you can do what i did.....

buy a new one... from wal mart, swap stickers..(be very careful) and take back the old one...(pull out ur chip first)

No diagrams.

Open it u and look for fuses. Test each one with a multimeter and replace the one that's blown.

if its not the fuses get a replacment controller unit from a console repair site pull the old one out of the ps2 and replace it with a new one.
