Aquanox CCD Backup fails

Anybody had success with backing up this game. Used Cloney and installed ok and played just once, then on a second and subsequent attempts (hide CDR Media turned on) you get a small box with a message and then thrown back to the dektop.

Just a note to add that the original CD was read with a Liteon 165H DVD ROM and written by a Liteon 32125s.
