Making Backup of NWN CD Key Issue

I made a complete backup of NWN using CloneCD, no copying problems. All three discs copied without error.

When I tested the initial install disc #1 it asked for the CDkey as it did when I initiallly installed the game, however, when I type in the CDkeyin the inside cover of my maual it gives me an "Invalid CD key" error box so fast (on/off) that I had to keep hitting enter to read what it said.

Question: Does this mean I did not make a successful backup copy, or due to cd checks/copyright protections...etc...do I need to use some type of utility to get aroud this CDkey issue?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This was an expensive game and I I want to be sure I've got a working back up.
