Yamaha 2200E CD-r Media problem

I have yamaha 2200E 20x10x40 IDe CD-RW and 16x10x40 IDE i can burn all cd-r media in 16x write speed on16x10x40 but i can`t burn in my 20x10x40 it down to speed 8x or 12 x and says changing write speed due to the media.Is there any one know this problem and can help me ?

Are u useing highspeed media or just regular media ?

U can write regular media "cdr" up to 16x

Have you tried a firmware upgrade from the Yamaha web-site???

It's usually down to the software which decides the burn speed if you have invoked the simulation mode. One of the things that the burning software discovers is the actual data rate and adjusts burn speed to avoid buffer underrun. No doubt you have it all set up correctly, namely that the Yammie is on the secondary IDE channel not the Primary (with the hard drive).
