Switch you PS2 off at the back, then try again after that. Your cip is going into PSX mode when you should be telling it to boot into PS2 mode. Look into your instructions to get an idea on how to do this. If not liksang.com will tell you.

You may be tryingot boot a DVD-R which is not suppoted by direct boot with the Neo 4.1 follow these instructions

Power on system with no disk inside
Choose BROWSER on first screen
Press Eject and insert an Original DVD game with a larger TOC than the DVDR
Press and HOLD eject to close the door.
When golden CD appears on screen release eject.
Door will pop open and you have 6 seconds to take out original and insert DVDR copy
Door will close on its own
Choose the golden cd on screen and press X, game will boot!

CD-Rs should boot same as normal, but double tap the power button after boot OR leave your finger depressed until the blue light flashes on to tell the modchip that the disk is not an original.

I doubt that it is the chip. It is a more popular chip in the US as not many US machines support the messiah. Could it be possible that the game you are playing is an EA sports game? (Neo 4.1 does not support these). Try booting the game with the same method as the DVD games. Or alternatively boot the game in browser mode directly. If it worked once, it should work again.

Try booting an original game and see what happens.

Boot an original game, and once it loads, swp it with a backup and reset the machine. Leave the tray out when you reset. See what happens.

Sounds like the chip is stuck in PSX mode, if you can take it out of this setting, then you should be OK - more than likely, when you get a backup going - you'll have to do that trick every time (to get it out of PSX mode.)

Who installed the chip for you? They may be your best option here - as I am a messiah chip user not a Neo.

Good Luck!!

BG is on a distinguished road
Contact Charlie_PS2 or DUST2DUST.... If you want a Messiah they can get it for you.... Depending on what version PS2 you have they may have it in stock.... If not, they will have it shortly when the US messiah is released....
