I have a USA V1 PS2 with Neo 2.2 Pro and Gameshark 1.0
Before I installed the modchip, I was using the Pulley/Knife Swap trick and my PS2 backups worked fine. After installing the Neo 2.2 and double checking all solder points, I am unable to play those same PS2 backups and unable to directly boot PS1 games (I have tried all the different booting/swapping methods). When I took off the PS2 cover and exposed the CD Tray, I was able to swap my Gameshark disk with the backup and the game worked fine. It seems that when I press the EJECT button on my PS2 to swap the gameshark with a backup game, the system realizes that it is trying to play a backup game and refuses. If this is the case, what should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

If you soldered it correctly - the chip should work fine. Does the PS2 play original games?
Sonds to me you need to activate the chip at the boot up. Read the instructions that came with the chip to help with that. Generally, with the Noe 2.2, you'll need to keep the power button depressed until the blue eject light comes on for PSX games - try that for booting GS also. The Neo 2.2 also responds to a double tap after boot - and a double tap to boot. try these different techniques. Timing is critical at this stage and after the swap. The other problem is your GS - it should be version 1.3 to be of any true efectiveness so look into that. Good luck. |

Yes, the PS2 can play originals.
The chip didn't come with any instructions but I will try what you said. Thanks |
